City Municipal Council (CMC) Ilkal was constituted in 1868. Ilkal is a significant city situated in Bagalkot District of the southern state of India, Karnataka at a distance of 60 Kms from Bagalkot. The India census report published in 2011 states that Ilkal had a population of 60282 and Ilkal city stretches to an area of 12.53 Sqkms. The CMC has 31 Wards and equal number of Councilors. Ilkal is famous for its hand woven sarees commonly known as Ilkal sarees.They are worn by the women living in North Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Maharastra. Ilkal is also the source of red granite stone which is exported to various places and Sarees are available in lot of colors and different borders with rich Indian heritage. Ilkal was an ancient weaving centre where the weaving seems to have started in the 8th century AD. The growth of these sarees is attributed to the patronage provided by the local chieftains in and around the town of Bellary. The availability of local raw materials helped in the growth of this saree About 20000 people in the town of Ilkal are engaged in saree-weaving. Ilkal has a large temple of Vijayamahanteshaswami and his religious preceptor Gurumahanta Shivayogishwara. The monument of Hazarath Syed Murtaza-Sha-Khadri lies on the eastern side of the town.
ಗಣಕೀಕರಣ:
ಭೌಗೋಳಿಕ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ(GIS): ಇಲಕಲ್ಲ ನಗರಸಭೆಯು ಆಸ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕೆ.ಎಂ.ಆರ್.ಪಿ ಯೋಜನೆಯ ಭೌಗೋಳಿಕ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ಪಧ್ಧತಿಯಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಗಣಕೀಕರಣ ಮಾಡಿದೆ. ಸದ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರು ತಮ್ಮ ಆಸ್ತಿಯ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ವಿವರಗಳನ್ನು ನಗರಸಭೆಯ ವೆಬ್ ಸೈಟ್ ಮೂಲಕ ವೀಕ್ಷಿಸಬಹುದು.
ಜನನ-ಮರಣ(Birth and Death Online Application): 1990 ರಿಂದ ಈ ದಿನದವರೆಗೆ ಜನನ ಮತ್ತು ಮರಣ ದಾಖಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಗಣಕೀಕೃತಗೊಳಿಸಿದ್ದು, ನಾಗರೀಕರು ಇನ್ನು ಮುಂದೆ ನಾಗರೀಕ ಸೇವಾ ಕೇಂದ್ರದಲ್ಲೆ ಜನನ-ಮರಣ ನೊಂದಣಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಪತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಸೇವಾ ಶುಲ್ಕ ಪಾವತಿಸಿ ಪಡೆಯಬಹುದೆಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಲು ಹರ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ. ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರು ಇದರ ಸದುಪಯೋಗ ಪಡೆಯಲು ವಿನಂತಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ. ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರು ನಗರಸಭೆಯ ಅಧಿಕೃತ ವೈಬ್ ಸೈಟ್ ಮೂಲಕ ದಾಖಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪರಿಶೀಲಿಸಬಹುದು. ಅಧಿಕೃತ ವೆಬ್ ಸೈಟ್ : www.ilkaltown.gov.in
ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ದೂರು ನಿವಾರಣಾ ಕೇಂದ್ರ(Public Grievance Redressal System (P.G.R)): ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ದೂರು ನಿವಾರಣಾ ಕೇಂದ್ರವು ವಾರದ 7 ದಿನಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ದಿನದ 24 ಘಂಟೆಗಳು ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರು ಪತ್ರ, ದೂರವಾಣಿ, ಆನ್ ಲೈನ್ ಆಪ್ಲೀಕೇಷನ್ ಮೂಲಕ ದೂರುಗಳನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಬಹುದು. ಸಹಾಯವಾಣಿ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ:08351-270600 ಹಾಗೂ ಅಧಿಕೃತ ವೆಬ್ ಸೈಟ್ :www.ilkaltown.gov.in
ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ವೆಬ್ ಸೈಟ್: ಇಲಕಲ್ಲ ನಗರಸಭೆಯ ಅಧಿಕೃತ ಅಂತರ್ಜಾಲ www.ilkaltown.gov.in ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರಿಗೆ ಬೇಕಾದ ಕಛೇರಿ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಮಾಹಿತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಇದರ ಮೂಲಕ ಪಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬಹುದು.
ಘನತ್ಯಾಜ್ಯ ವಸ್ತು ಸಂಗ್ರಹಣೆ:
ನಗರಸಭೆಯ 19-ವಾರ್ಡ್ ಗಳ ಘನ ತ್ಯಾಜ್ಯ ವಸ್ತು ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆಯನ್ನು ಗುತ್ತಿಗೆ ನೀಡಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಸಂಗ್ರಹಣೆ, ಬೀದಿಗುಡಿಸುವುದು, ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಗಾಣಿಕೆ ಸೇರಿಕೊಂಡಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರು ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಸಂಗ್ರಹಣೆಯ ಶುಲ್ಕವನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪದೆ ಪಾವತಿಸುವುದು. ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಪಟ್ಟಂತೆ ಯಾವುದಾದರೂ ದೂರುಗಳಿದ್ದಲ್ಲಿ ನಗರಸಭೆಯ ಸಹಾಯವಾಣಿ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ-270600 ಸಂಪರ್ಕಿಸುವುದು. ನಗರವನ್ನು ಸ್ವಚ್ಚವಾಗಿಡಲು ಸಹಕರಿಸಿ. -ಪೌರಾಯುಕ್ತರು, ನಗರಸಭೆ, ಇಲಕಲ್ಲ.
Solid Waste Management:
Solid Waste Management in 19 wards has been outsourced. It is of two package system comprising primary collection, street sweeping and transportation to landfill site. ದಿನಾಂಕ:01/10/2011 ರಿಂದ ಅನ್ವಯವಾಗುವಂತೆ ನೀರಿನ ತೆರಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಒಳಚರಂಡಿ ತೆರಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ಪರಿಷ್ಕರಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. 
ಇಲಕಲ್ಲ ನಗರದ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಆಸ್ತಿಯ ಮಾಲಿಕರುಗಳಿಗೆ ಸ್ವಯಂ ಘೋಷಿತ ಆಸ್ತಿ ತೆರಿಗೆ, ನೀರಿನ ತೆರಿಗೆ, ಒಳಚರಂಡಿ ಕರ, ಭೂ ಬಾಡಿಗೆ, ಲೈಸನ್ಸ್ ಫೀ, ಮಳಿಗೆ ಬಾಡಿಗೆ, ಹಳೆಯ ಘರಪಟ್ಟಿ, ಅಭಿವೃಧ್ಧಿ ಕರ ಇತ್ಯಾದಿ ಕರಗಳನ್ನು ನಗರಸಭೆಗೆ ಕೂಡಲೇ ಭರಣಾ ಮಾಡಿ ನಗರದ ಅಭಿವೃಧ್ಧಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಹಕರಿಸಲು ಈ ಮೂಲಕ ವಿನಂತಿಸಿದೆ.
